Academic background Graduated in Law from King’s College London in 1989. Called to the Bar in 1991. Following a successful pupillage at St. Mary’s Chambers became a tenant in 1992 and has exclusively practised in Family Law since 1995.
Areas of expertise/interest
- Since October 2005 has elected to specialise in public law children cases, acting for Local Authorities, parents, Guardians and the Official Solicitor throughout the Midland Circuit.
- Regularly appears in the Family Division on circuit often taking in Leading Counsel.
- Experienced and regularly instructed in complex physical and sexual harm cases.
- Fully committed to continued representation of both privately and publicly funded clients alike.
Professional
- Junior counsel in the leading case of Re H and R [1996] AC 563.
- October 2004 - joined a Circuit Judge and Children’s Guardian in presenting the English model for the representation of children in Salzburg to the Austrian Children and Young Persons Offices.
