Maria specialises in complex public law children cases. She frequently deals with cases involving multiple injuries, serious sexual assaults, complex medical evidence and legal issues. She was appointed Assistant Deputy Coroner of Nottinghamshire in 2013.

Maria graduated in Law from Sussex University in 1986 and was awarded her Master’s degree in International Law at Nottingham University in 1988. She was called to the Bar in 1990. Maria successfully completed her pupillage at St. Mary’s Chambers in 1991 (general common law with particular emphasis on civil and family law) and since 1999 she has specialised almost exclusively in family law.
