Recent cases

In a recent case, Stephen represented a grandmother on an appeal against the refusal by Magistrates of her application to care for her granddaughter. Both the Local Authority and the child's guardian wanted the child to be adopted and opposed the appeal but the Judge in the County Court disagreed with them and ordered that the child should be placed in her grandmother's care.

He also represented an appellant father in the Court of Appeal against the making of an interim care order. The appeal was compromised and remitted to the County Court for a fresh hearing before a different judge.
